The Bay Window Awning has a five-sided frame. The three front panels and two side panels are covered in fabric/canvas. Bay Window Awnings are specifically tailored to fit the angled sides of a bay window. This type of awning is commonly seen on residences all across the country.

Fun fact: Lucretius, the Roman Poet, in 50 B.C., compared thunder to the sound that “linen-awning, stretched, o’er mighty theatres, gives forth at times, a cracking roar, when much ’tis beaten about, betwixt the poles and cross-beams.” Thankfully modern awning fabrics are treated and stretched so that they are not so ‘thunderous’ when the wind picks up.
